The "2024 Choa Pharmaceutical Professional Baseball Grand Prize" co-founded by Choa Pharmaceutical Co., Ltd. and Daily Sports will be held on the 3rd of next month. Park Dong-won (34, LG Twins), Kang Min-ho (39, Samsung Lions), and Kim Hyung-joon (25, NC Dinos) will compete for the top catcher's prize.

Park Dong-won, who led LG to win the 2023 season, also showed stellar performance in the 2024 season, when he won the title of No. 1 in annual salary (2.5 billion won) in the league. Notably, he displayed stellar defense. He played the most innings (944 and two thirds) among the 10 major catcher's team, and posted a 0.996 ERA. He also managed to block 29 stolen bases, ranking second in this category. He led LG pitchers to confidently pitch through his unique combination of offensive balls, contributing to LG's ranking in the team's ERA of 2.63 during the 2024 regular season. He led Samsung, which had been rated in the middle and lower ranks until the opening of the season, to the second place in the regular season. Kang also showed his high contribution to the team at bat, with a batting average of 0.303, 19 homers and 77 RBIs.

Kim Hyung-joon, the catcher of the 20s, proved his strength. He was ranked No. 1 both in stolen bases (31) and stolen bases (37.8 percent) in this season. He was selected as a member of the national team for three consecutive international competitions, including the Hangzhou Asian Games (AG) and the Asian Professional Baseball Championship (APBC) last year, and the Premier 12 this year.

The best award given to players who have shown top performance in both ball and numbers is a two-way match between Song Sung-moon (Kium Heroes) and Hong Chang-ki (31, LG).

Song displayed his full capacity in his 10th year since debut. He led Kiwoom's offense this season by posting a batting average of 0.340 (179 hits in 602 times at bat), 19 homers, 104 RBIs, and 21 steals. He also ranked fifth in terms of batting average and hits. He displayed stable play in main positions as he ranked third in the third base category in the KBO league, and also played 140 innings or more as first and second basemen, respectively, demonstrating his ability to play multi-position. He also led the way both inside and outside the field as captain of the Kiwoom team.

Hong Chang-ki, the representative on-baseball player of the KBO League, ranked first in this category with a 0.447 on-base percentage this season as well.
